Students Work with Cut&Paste

Education meets the real world.

Cut&Paste Labs is a highly selective web development program that offers education through experience – students work on real projects with real clients. Students attend two weeks of intensive workshops in high-speed, standards compliant web design and project management, and spend the next four weeks working with clients on production-level websites. Cut&Paste instructors offer guidance and ensure that student work meets rigorous professional standards.

DIY Extreme

Cut&Paste Labs emphasizes self-sufficiency. Each student learns to work as an independent designer, managing projects, working with clients, and executing designs from start to finish. Cut&Paste also makes use of free, open-source tools, rather than paying hundreds or thousands of dollars for software licenses.

Driving development with tech education

There is a strong need for computer education in developing nations. The U.N. Millenium Development Goals emphasize that technological education “underpin[s] long-term growth and must be at the center of any strategy to strengthen the private sector.” By teaching design skills and working on small web design projects, Cut & Paste will focus on enabling – as well as core values such as leadership, creativity, independence, and entrepreneurship. The role of Cut&Paste Labs is twofold – it is a design firm catering to lightweight web development needs, as well as a school for web and computer skills.
